Hello,

Im looking for a tailor that can make a long evening dress- quite simple and made from silk - in HK. Aim price 3,000 or less.

Any recommendations please...:) THANK YOU!

I have been there but they charge 7000 ! for a basic evening dress. So much right? Does anyone know anyone a bit more reasonable. Thanks!

it will cost you a lot less than that in Schenzhen, I would go there, if you can.

I know, its 750 - 1500 for the same dress in SZ but what with the visa situation at the moment i cant get there. :(

Try in Prince Edward where the wedding gowns are located (I think exit B2, where the Singer sewing machine branch is located). My friend went there to have a custom made communion dress for her daughter. You can see different kind of dress as you go in different floors.

There is a well known tailor in LKF called Margaret whose name I've heard a lot this year (although she has been around for years I believe). My hairdresser had her wedding dress made there, it was very simple and really lovely. I should be able to get her details by the end of the week. She is also far more reasonable than Siriporn the tailor mentioned in earlier posts.

I have had 4 evening dresses made by Suwan Tailor in Central and they are all FAB. The Thai ladies there are very professional and friendly. I bought the material myself (from Western market) and they charged $2200 for the tailoring of my latest dress which included quite a lot of beading work. Good Luck.

If you have time go to shenzhen, you can find good tailor there or go to Margaret, she is very good too!
