sorry, is it just me or everyone, not sure about what confidement lady is? do you mean a maternity nurse or something like that?

It is my understanding that confinement ladies are the ladies that we can hire to come to your home to help out with the babies - the first few months after birth - they will also look after the mothers during that period. These ladies are not "qualified" as nurses - but have experience with newborns.

right, do you have a helper? is she experienced with kids - if not Annerly midwives do something similar.

I havent used them in that capacity but when I did use them in an instance of having to get someone in for 24 hours while I had an unexpected stay in hospital and they were great. Shirley was exceptionally accomodating and very pleasant to deal with.

Hi Havefaith,

I thought of getting one when i gave birth 2 years ago, but since i can't speak cantonese, it might be hard to communicate with a local confinement. I have a full time helper so my only concern is confinement food, i found out about this company who deliveres confinement food for a month, they were great, delivers your food from breakfast, snack til dinner. I highly recommend them, company name is Terreform. Make a google, sorry no help on their number, but if you can't find it, PM me and i'll try to look for it. I used them 2 yrs ago so i'm not sure if they are still in business. Not cheap but worth it.
