Upscale Areas in Hong Kong
Posted by nessaa (234 days ago)
Hi to all! Please give me advice on where to purchase a flat. I'd like to buy a flat in an upscale area. Budget is around HK90,000,000. I already visited The Peak and also Mid Levels Central. Is Mid Levels West considered upscale too? How about Clearwater Bay?
I'll be living/working in HK for a couple of years, then after my stay there I intend to have the flat rented out. So the property must be a really good investment. I think it would be better also if it is located in HK island.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

If you push me hard enough I will sell you my place near the Gold Coast for only $88,888,888. With all those 8's you will be guaranteed long lucky life.

Hi Nessaa, when are you arriving in Hong KOng? Where are you going to work? How long are you going to stay? Don't you think to rent a place in a trendy area first and have a feel of Hong Kong before you commit to buy a place? Having the wrong apartment is worse than having the wrong man. You can't drop it like a hot cake.

especially if you've paid $90,000,000.
but i'm guessing for that kind of $$$ you could probably afford quite a luxurious house rather than a dingy old flat!

For a budget of HK$90m, you can buy quite a substantial property. The Peak is the obvious choice at the top end but there are also nice properties on the south side of the Island and modern penthouse apartments in Kowloon to consider.
You first need to find a good estate agent who can show you the range of properties on the market and available. It is also important to find a good lawyer to do the title transfers - negotiating large sales can be tricky. For further information, please contact me topcathk@gmail.com

I would hazzard a guess that the original poster meant $9,000,000 - if one was going to spend $90,000,000 surely you would do your homework first and and recuruit a reputable relocations agent to do the ground work for you. OP also makes reference to flat so guessing it is 9M not 90M!!!!!!!

If your budget is really 90M HKD, try to scout around for a small residencial building instead. I think that's a better investment and value for your money.
