new helper

I have recenlty hire a part itme helper, she has so far only been to me yesterday for four hours, i have asked her if she would be able to come back on Thursday for 3 hours, but she has told me she cant do 3 hours, but can do 4!!! I would be in when she is cleaning.............do i trust that there is enough for her to do for 4 hours?

I would find her some work to do for the extra time. Ironing, cleaning, washing or cooking even just have a list that is going to take at least that length of time

but surely if i want her for only three hours she shouild agree to that?

did you ever agree hours with her beforehand? If you did obviously that's what you should stick to - if not - just say 3 hours is fine this time.

What is the size of your flat? How much ironing does your household have?
4 hours can pass quickly for part timers as there is always something to do.
If she finishes early you give her other tasks for eg. clean the windows, exhaust fans, air con filters, cooker hood or even polish the floor with wax.

think i will just leave her a list.......flat is not that big, only just over 1000sq ft. didnt agree hours before hand. Suppose will just let her do the 4 hours twice this week then maybe change it for next week.
