Hi Ed,

A suggestion for you on the personals. I can understand why you'd want the person placing the advert to pay a fee but if the site asks persons who reply to the ad to also pay a fee, it will result in lesser responses for the person placing the ad and consequently be counter productive for the site.

Wonder if you can take this suggestion and let the replies be free of charge.

Most personals sites charge with the going rate about USD20/month - we charge about $60 for an entire year. At the end of the day we are running a business so we balance that with a reasonable fee.

Also putting a fee on the personals actually improves the responses - it generally keeps the 'stalkers' out of the personals and results in more sensible participation. Since implementing the paid format a few years ago the complaints about inappropriate responses have dropped to virtually nil.
